Fabrication technology @ MakerFaire

We're at the Maker Faire in Austin, Texas this weekend, and I was lucky enough to be able to attend a meeting of people interested in the DIY fabrication movement.

Cnet repoter Daniel Terdiman writes about the meeting in an article, "Fabricators descend on Maker Faire Austin" :

You supply wood, plastic, and endless hours of labor.

You supply all motor, mechanical, and electrical parts.

Can be built in a couple of evenings. Soldering required.

Flat-pack assembly required. You supply laptop & sugar. Not cheap.
